TREAT

Treat is a Social Network for pets. The app's purpose is for your pet to add pet friends, see their activity, and plan play dates.

A product team came to me to design a mobile application for pets. They wanted to gain insights from users and see what could make this pet social network app stand out from others.

CHALLENGE

Create an engaging mobile app that will appeal to the target audience by providing clear and meaningful information.

PROCESS

DISCOVERY PHASE

I teamed up with an interaction designer and with user research designers. We initially did some competitive analysis to see what was in the market. Most pet applications in the market were for collecting pet friends. We wanted to find a differentiator, so we interviewed pet owners, vets, and pet-friendly establishments.  Some key insights from these interviews and observations were: track pet appointments, keep medical records, and find dog friendly establishments.

We came up with this problem statement after interviewing a variety of users:

DESIGN

My next task is to design the branding and the app's visual language and get the product team's buy-in. I went with a retro flat illustration feel and wanted to have some fun elements.

Next, I worked on the wireframes for the app and worked with the developers to ensure that the workflow made sense from a development standpoint.

After getting the stakeholders' approval, I worked on the app screens and with development to implement the designs.
